Vegetation & Animals

Some animals that live in this region are: wolves, rabbits, deer, elk, owls, hawks, salmon, and raccoons. The animals have adapted, over time, to the changing seasons(winter, spring, summer, and fall). For example, rabbits have their fur change from brown to white so they can hide in the snow from predators. The most common vegetation are: Evergreen forests, grass, Red Wood forest, moss, Douglas Fir, red cedar, spruce. The majority of this area is covered in forest. Along with the animals adapting to this region, plants have their own adaptations to help them survive in the winter. Plants, such as flowers, bloom in the spring and summer in North America. However, in western Europe, trees stay the same through all four seasons.
